Hi Everyone!

Hi all, it's Elliot.  My big brother tells me that I have to contribute to this blog and write about my experiences.  I'm not sure I know what I'm doing, but I'll give it a try.  I am now 3 weeks old, and I have had quite a busy time since I've been born.  I was born into a family that always seems to have something going on, so we are on the go a lot.  Good thing I am a good car traveler.

So far I have been a good, happy baby.  I still have my days and nights mixed up, so my mommy is pretty tired, but I am working on getting better at sleeping so she can get some rest.  Right now though, I will only sleep in my crib for about 10-20 minutes at a time, but if mommy holds me I will sleep for hours.  Her and I sleep on the recliner every night, which I love because I stay nice and warm.  I don't think this will last forever though, because mommy is persistent and keeps putting me back in my crib.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

With the birth of my baby brother, I forgot to post this blog about my Daddy's birthday.  His birthday is on New Year's Eve, and usually we have a big party.  Since the baby was so close to being born though, the three of us celebrated Daddy's birthday at home this year.  We ordered in Buffalo Wild Wings, ate cake, and opened presents.  I didn't make it until midnight (and neither did mommy or daddy), but we had fun ringing in the New Year anyway.  Here are a few pictures from our day.

Please welcome Elliot Randal Owens!

Our new bundle of joy has finally arrived!  Elliot Randall Owens made his appearance on January 4th, 2012 at 12:46pm weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces (1 ounce bigger than his brother) and 21 inches long.  Labor and delivery were a bit different than last time; I was induced at around 8 am and things progressed very quickly.  I held out until 11 am to get my epidural, and under 2 hours later we had a baby!  There wasn't a whole lot of time to react, and even an hour after he was born, I told Nick that I still couldn't believe that he was here already :)  There were also a record number of babies born at Maple Grove Hospital that day (18), so things were crazy busy the whole time we were there.

Nick and I feel very blessed to have two happy, healthy little boys.  We are working on getting a routine down in our household, but for now are just enjoying the chaos that having two children brings :)
