Baby Update

A note from mommy......the doctor has been monitoring the new little guy closely over the past few weeks.  An ultrasound a few weeks ago showed that he already weighed almost 7 pounds so she doesn't want him to get too big.  Since Noah was almost 9 pounds, the chances are good that this one will be a bit bigger.  The decision was made at the last appointment to induce on January 4th.  We can't wait!  My doctor still thinks that I will go before that, but as the days go on, I think she might be wrong :)  One more week to wait and see!
Noah is getting more aware of the baby coming, and although he is doing really well, he has his moments where he lets us know that he doesn't care for the idea that much.  For example, when we were putting the baby seat in the car today, he had a meltdown and insisted it was 'his car.'  We re-assured him that his carseat wasn't moving anywhere, rather, he was just going to share the backseat now with baby.  He also can't seem to leave the baby's cradle alone.....I guess he just wants to be 'the baby' of the family for a little while longer :)
We are praying for one more week of a healthy pregnancy before baby arrives!  The end is near!

Christmas 2011

Since my baby brother is going to be born soon, Mommy, Daddy and I didn't go anywhere for Christmas this year.  Instead, the three of us stayed home and had a great holiday!  Daddy stayed home with me on Friday since daycare was closed, and I get to spend all day Tuesday with him too.  I got a lot of nice presents for Christmas, I am a very lucky little boy.  Here are some pictures from this holiday weekend:

Visit from Grandparents

Last week, Papa Randy came to visit me.  I always like when people come to visit, so much that I tend to get a little 'wild' while they are here :)  Mommy always swears I act like a different little boy when we have company (a.k.a. I turn into a bit of a show off); I just can't help it because I'm so excited!
Mommy and I made some brownies before papa came.  My favorite thing to do is help her in the kitchen right now.  Even if she is getting a glass of water, I have to quick grab my stool and help to make sure I'm not missing something.
Helping stir up the brownies

Oops, I spilled flour all over the floor...time to clean up!

Mmm, licking the batter, the best part!
Here are a few pictures from my visit with Papa:

A week after Papa Randy came to visit, Grandpa and Grandma Owens came to visit me too.  I didn't get any pictures while they were here, but we sure had fun.  I played a lot with Grandpa Larry, our favorite game was playing with our tape measures.  I also read a lot of stories with Grandma Patty.
Thanks for coming to visit everyone since we can't make it home for Christmas this year!

Wednesday Night Playdate

After daycare yesterday, mommy and I headed over to my friend Charlie's house.  Charlie's mommy just had a baby, so we wanted to meet him.  The baby's name is Patrick, and naturally I asked mommy in the car if Spongebob was also going to be there.  Mommy told me that I thinking of the wrong Patrick :)

Charlie and I had a lot of fun playing together while our mommies and their other friends Heidi and Roxanne took turns holding baby Patrick.  When nobody was looking, I took Patrick's pacifier and put it in my mouth.  Mommy wasn't too impressed with me, but I thought it was worth a try.

Here are a few pictures from my night. Charlie and I partied until almost 10, so I am a little tired today.

Happy Halloween!

Whew!  I had a busy day!  First, I headed to daycare for my Halloween party with my friends, then I came home and ate dinner before getting ready to go trick-or-treating around our neighborhood with Daddy.  Here are a few pictures from my day....

Yay!  Costume time!

Ready to go! Come on Daddy!

Bye Mommy!  (I made it to the first house in my wagon, then we brought it back)
I wanted to walk like a big boy.

Look at all my candy!
I have so much energy right now, but I think I might crash soon.  Good night everyone, Happy Halloween!

My Baby Brother

For those of you that don't know, we have known for awhile that my mommy is having another boy, which means I am going to have a brother!  I think I'm excited for that....he's going to know how to play football with me, right?

The baby hasn't been too nice to mommy lately though, so I need to tell him that we don't like that.  Mommy has missed work some, and has been in pain.  She thought maybe the baby was ready to come out and play earlier this week, so she had to be hooked up to a baby monitor for awhile with the Dr. to make sure baby stays put.  The good news is that baby looks healthy and good.  Unfortunately he continues to cause mommy some pain.  I don't like that because then mommy can't play with me as much.  I try to make her feel better though by bringing books up to her bed to read with her before I goto sleep.  Then we can cuddle a little, which I know she likes :)

I somehow got the idea that if anything of mine is missing, that the baby must have taken it.  The other morning, I noticed that one of the pillows on the couch was missing, so I told mommy 'baby took my pillow, I'll be right back.'  I then proceeded to go upstairs towards the nursery.  Mommy explained to me that my pillow was just on the floor and the baby didn't take it.  It was a safe guess though, right...I mean, the baby has already taken my room, my crib, my Nuk Nuk......we might have to have a talk about boundaries after he's born.  Mommy even overheard me the other day when I was winding down for a nap in my room.  I was saying to myself (whispering) 'baby coming, no more Nuk Nuk, I a big boy.'  :)

Please continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy!  My baby brother will be here soon!

No more Nuk Nuk!

I am officially a big boy!  Mommy and Daddy have been telling me all week that the Nuk Nuk fairy was going to come on Friday night.  I thought they were kidding, but since they kept bringing it up every day, I started to get a little nervous.  When mommy picked me up from daycare on Friday, in typical fashion, I asked for my 'Na Na' when I got into the car.  Mommy reminded me that the Nuk Nuk fairy was coming, and I BROKE DOWN.  I cried all the way home.  When we got home, I ran to daddy crying and started yelling at mommy.  They decided to let me have it 'one last time.'  Then we went to the toy store and I picked out a huge Woody (Toy Story) doll as a consolation for giving up my Nuk.  I was okay with it until bedtime, and then I broke down again.  Mommy laid in my bed with me to make me feel better, and I eventually came to terms with the fact that I would give up my Nuk.  She reminded me how I was a big boy and that the babies need my Nuks.
On Saturday I only asked for my Nuk a few times, but I remembered that I had given them up and they were gone.  I'm still a little sad, but I'm a big boy and am proud of myself!  When mommy was putting together the nursery today, I even told her (without any prompting) that we needed to put a Nuk in the crib for the baby.
Me and my new Woody doll (and of course Mickey)
That's all for now.  G'night from the 'big boy'.

Friday Night Fun

Last Friday night, we got together with a bunch of our friends and had pizza, beer (juice for us of course), and then the Dads and boys headed to the Rogers football homecoming game.  Since I was a little cranky that day, I decided at the last minute to stay home with the girls and little kids.  Daddy was disappointed that he couldn't bring me with to the game.
My friends and I had so much fun playing and eating snacks while our Moms caught up and sipped on wine.  Here is the only picture from the evening.  My best friend Kendyl and I like to go off on our own and play.  We even crawled into baby Bennett's crib.  Both of our mommies were a little upset, oops :)

Apple Orchard

On Saturday we met up some of our friends at Apple Jack Orchards.  I have been talking about picking out my 'big pumpkin' for weeks now, and I was excited that it was finally time to go!
Mommy and I walking in
Finally, the pumpkins!
So many to pick from!
Not thrilled to stand by the sign :)
We met up some of my friends over by the orchard, and they were doing train rides behind the tractor.  I was so proud of myself for going on the ride by myself....just don't mind the Nuk in my mouth.  I needed a little comfort to get me through the long ride :)

Some of the kids on the wagon ride..again, ignore the Nuk.
I'm working through my addiction I promise :)
