Elliot's ONE!

Hi everyone.  Last week was my birthday, and I am finally one!  I loved my birthday cake, and made a huge mess digging into it.  I am an active little boy and walking around now.  I took 5 steps the day before my birthday (I was really trying to get mommy to write that in my baby book).  I like to get into everything, especially Noah's things.  I still smile at everything, but have started having an occasional tantrum when I don't like something.  I'm not talking much yet, but utter 'dada' every once in a while.  I love to point at things and wave bye bye.  My favorite game to play is peek a boo. I also get real milk in my cup now instead of formula, and I don't like it.  I throw the cup on the floor and refuse to drink....it doesn't seem to be working though, no formula in sight!  My stats at age one:

Height: 30.5 inches (70%)
Weight: 22 lb, 9 oz (45%)
Head: 19 inches (92%)

Christmas 2012

This year for Christmas, we stayed at Grandpa and Grandma Owens' house.  We enjoyed a long weekend and spent time playing with our cousins, watching for deer in the backyard (Grandpa feeds them so there are ALOT to watch), and tearing poor Grandma's house apart :)  We spent Christmas Day with Grandma and Grandpa Ploeger, and then came home to celebrate our own family Christmas. We had so much fun opening all of our presents, but were very tired once it was all over.  We got to spend a few days at home with mommy since daycare was closed, so it was a nice lazy week.
Some highlights from this Christmas include:
~Getting to church on Christmas Eve a few minutes before it started and the only open seats were the very front row.  All 5 kids did great and behaved very well (with the exception of Noah throwing a small fit because he wanted to play with Elliot's teething ring)
~Elliot missing out on his first Christmas present opening because he just couldn't stay awake one minute longer.
~The weather was SO cold that we had to stay inside the whole time.
~Both sets of Grandparents spoiled us so much with presents...the car was so full on the way home that there was barely room for us.
~Noah came into the dining room on Christmas Day with his pants down to his ankles and yelled that he 'needed help'
Elliot was scared of the tree right away.  His fears quickly faded
and it became his favorite place to get into mischief.
Noah decorated the whole tree himself this year
'It's okay Elliot, it's not scary."
Favorite thing to do every morning....look at new
presents that were added under the tree.

Thanksgiving 2012

We spent Thanksgiving this year with Grandpa and Grandma Ploeger.  We also got to see Grandpa and Grandma Owens the next day.  We were all very full from our yummy turkey dinners!  Elliot had his first taste of turkey and potatoes, and he LOVED them.  He ate so much over our 3-day stay that he got an upset tummy and had to go on a bland diet for a few days after we got home :)  We were having so much fun that we didn't get too many pictures over the weekend, but here are a few to share:
