Bye-Bye Daddy!

This past week I got to spend a lot of quality time with Mommy because Daddy was on his annual fishing trip to Devils Lake with Grandpa Larry, and uncles Travis and Jake.
He went last year too, but I wasn't old enough to know that he was gone. This year I was looking everywhere for him. Mommy and I played the 'where's daddy' game every morning and I looked in the closet, under the bed, under other furniture, in the shower, in the pantry, but never found him.
Mommy and I had so much fun together, she even let me nap with her in bed (shhh, don't tell daddy!) on the weekend.

On Friday, auntie Lea and Amy came to visit. We all then jumped in Mommy's car and went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Ploeger. I just loved all the attention that Amy gave me! She didn't even get sick of me once :) We did so much when we were at Grandma's: we went shopping, went over to visit my new cousin Ali (I didn't like the attention mama was giving her though so I was a bit naughty), and met Grandma Patty at the pool. I was a little bashful with my relatives this time around (both Grandmas to be exact) and I even threw a fit when mommy left for a few minutes and ended up falling asleep on the living room floor. Grandma Patty told mommy when she got home that I had thrown the bottle at her and 'yelled'. I didn't want either one of my Grandmas to rock me to sleep. Sorry Grandmas, I still love you :)
This is my cousin Amy, isn't she beautiful? She's my favorite to play with!

Grandma didn't mind that I made a mess out of her cupboards, I was having the time of my life while mama took a shower.

I had to show Lea, Amy and Grandma some of my dance moves. They thought I was pretty good.

Mommy had a golf tournament on Thursday, so I got to stay late at Shelli's house. I had so much fun because I got to hang out upstairs, which I don't get to do during the day. I played with Brooklyn and Lauren (she got to stay late too). When mommy picked me up she told me we had to hurry and take a bath because a few of her co-workers were coming over after golfing. Although I don't like stangers much, I played with one of mommy's co-workers (Kayla) the whole time until I had to goto bed.

I am talking alot these days. I can say these words: mama, dada, ball, puppy, dog, book, duck. Some people might say they sound alot alike, but mommy always knows what I am trying to say. I get very excited when I say a word and she repeats it back to me. Finally someone can understand me! I also love to dance, which I learned at daycare. I shake my head, wiggle my arms, and bounce up and down. "Hey Soul Sister" by Train is my favorite song, and I giggle everytime it comes on in the car.

I just started to make this face too lately. My mommy thinks it's so funny because she did the same thing when she was my age. She is going to try to find a picture to compare.

That's all for now, later!

Noah's First Year

June 2010 (1 year old). I didn't care for my birthday party much. I refused to eat my cake, even though I think it looked good. I didn't want to get my hands dirty. For some reason, daddy said that mommy needs to let me play outside more. I don't know what that has to do with cake. I am a very active little boy now. I love to crawl around and play with my toys. When I get mad I throw anything that is in sight. Mommy doesn't seem to like that though. I am still not walking, but I can walk around furniture and with my walker really well. My stats:
Height: 32.5 inches (above 97%)
Weight: 22 lbs, 13 ounces (50%)
Head: 18.75 inches (75%)

May 2010 (11 months old). Mommy bought me a pool to swim in, but it is still too cold to put outside. So, instead, she blew it up and I got to play with it (without water) in the house. I had so much fun. I am also talking alot now; I can say dadda, mama, duck and ball. I get so excited when other people can understand me.

April 2010 (10 months old). It is starting to get nice outside now, and one of my favorite things to do is goto the park with Mommy and Daddy. I hate the swing, but just love the slide and tetor-toter. I also have mastered standing in my crib, so when I wake up now, I stand up and yell for someone to come get me.

March 2010 (9 months old). I still love getting into stuff. The fridge is my favorite. Mommy says I'm not supposed to play in there, but daddy lets me sometimes. I started swimming lessons this month, and I LOVE them! I get to be in a class with 4 other babies, and we have so much fun! I also upgraded to a 'big boy' car seat this month. I outgrew my other one, even though I should have been able to use it until I was 1 year old. My stats:
Height: 29.5 inches (90%)
Weight: 19 lbs, 14 ounces (40%)
Head: 18 inches (75%)
The doctor says I'm slimming down because I'm so active.

February 2010 (8 months old). I am really starting to get into EVERYTHING! I am a very curious baby, and I want to find out about everything that is going on. I even pull myself up on stuff now (cupboards, stools) and my mommy always looks scared. She tells me I have no fear and that I am going to fall. January 2010 (7 months old). I learned how to do a normal crawl this month, and also started climbing up a few stairs. Mommy keeps talking about how she has to 'baby proof' the house. I don't know what that is, but I don't think I like it. I am now also sitting up in the bathtub. No more of this laying down stuff, I want to sit up and play!

December 2009 (6 months old). I finally learned how to move, I can do an 'army crawl' (that's what mommy and daddy call it). I love moving around, and can get to my toys now without much help. My stats this month were:
Height: 28 inches (95%)
Weight 18 lbs, 2 ounces (55%)
Head: 17.75 inches (95%)
I'm slimming down a little, but am still tall and have a big head :)

November 2009 (5 months old). I got my first two teeth this month! Mommy and daddy had no idea because I wasn't crabby at all, they just came in. I was hoping that I could eat some Thanksgiving turkey because I had teeth, but I guess I'm still too young. Next year for sure! My favorite activity right now is reading. I love my 'baby giggles' book.

October 2009 (4 months old). Probably my favorite thing to do is eat. I started getting solid foods now, and I can't get enough! I will eat anything that mommy and daddy feed me. I am also working on my neck muscles by doing lots of tummy time. Sometimes I get crabby when I have to lay on my tummy though. Mommy tells me it's good for me. My stats from my 4 month visit were:
Height: 26.5 inches (94%)
Weight: 16 lbs, 2 ounces (75%)
Head: 17 inces (75%)
I don't understand where I am getting my height from, but I am a tall baby!

September 2009 (3 months old) - Mommy had to go back to work this month, which I didn't like. Her and daddy picked out a great daycare for me though, and I just love Shelli and Carrie. I'm starting to really become a ham now, and love smiling for the camera. I learned how to roll over this month (from tummy to back) and mommy missed it all because she was on a work trip. Daddy didn't realize he was suppose to keep it a secret that I did it while she was gone! I also started practicing sitting up, but need a lot of help with this.

August 2009 (2 months old). I'm starting to get a personality now, I even smile at my mama sometimes. I have figured out that when I do this, she will do just about anything for me! The highlight of this month was when mom and dad took me to the lake for the week to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Owens. I loved the lake! When I went to the doctor for my checkup, my 2 month stats were:
Height-23.5 inches (75%)
Weight-11 lbs, 8 oz (50%)
Head: 16 inches (75%)
I'm still a big boy!

July 2009 (1 month old)- I am still trying to figure out the world. I've been a very good baby so far, though. I even sleep 4 whole hours in a row so mommy and daddy can get some rest.

Noah Nicholas, born June 8, 2009 weighing 8 pounds, 5 ounces. I was a big boy!

Welcome!

Even though I was born more than a year ago, my parents finally decided to start a blog for me. To get started, mom is going to post a few pictures from my first year, one for each month.
