So Olivia is now 9 months old, and our last post was when she was born. Having 3 kids is hard :) And certainly updating a blog ends up on the bottom of the to-do list. But, to be fair to Ms. Olivia, I am going to attempt to catch up with this blog and document the first 9 months of her life. So, here we go. Overall, Olivia has been an unbelievable addition to our family. She is such a good baby, and has been a joy for each of us to be around. Here are a few pictures from the first few months of her life.
Newborn- Such a content baby. Loves to cuddle and watch her brothers. Loves to eat and prefers to sleep within inches from her mommy. The crib that we hurried to get wasn't necessary :)
 |
| Elliot's not so sure about this |
 |
| Noah adored his sister from the start |
 |
First bath...the boys thought it was hilarious when Olivia
pooped in the towel right after her bath. Maybe she's cool after all :) |
 |
| Cuddling with mama...pretty much how we spent mommy's entire maternity leave |
2 Weeks old
Weight: 7 lbs, 8.8 ounces
Length: 20.5 inches
Head: 14 inches
This day it was SO cold and there was a terrible snowstorm. School was cancelled for Noah so he got to tag along for our doctor's appointment. It was questionable if I should even be on the roads with the kids, but we made it there and back safely. It was so cold and windy that I unloaded the stroller/carseat in the lobby and had Noah stay with Olivia while I parked the car.

1 Month Old
Olivia still prefers to sleep next to Mommy, so I gave in and just let her sleep in bed with me. I should know better since this is my third time around, but honestly I was so tired that I didn't care how we got sleep, as long as we were getting sleep! We would fix the problem later.... Olivia is still a very good baby and rarely makes a peep.
 |
| Movie Night! The boys can't get enough of their sister |
 |
When you are the youngest, and you have 2 older brothers, you don't have
much choice but to play 'super heroes' |
 |
| The boys love to help feed Olivia before they head to school and daycare in the morning. |
2 Months Old
Starting to smile and has really strong neck/head control. She hates tummy time, but we continue to work on that. Likes to coo when talked to. Starting to crack a smile.
Weight: 11 lbs (45.06%)
Length: 23.25 inches (74.67%)
Head: 15.5 inches (58.89
At this time, she is tall and skinny....the pediatrician said she will make good super model. Ha, let's hope not.

| A little smile |

| All fresh after bath time! |

| Ready for church |
3 Months Old
Olivia is starting to go through a growth spurt, and wants to eat every few hours again. She tried cereal for the first time, but decided it wasn't for her. Since mommy had to go back to work, we tried really hard to make the crib desirable, and low and behold, Olivia got used to it and sleeps 6-8 hours at night!

| Hanging at the ice rink...all bundled up |

| Not liking cereal |
4 Months Old
Surprisingly, Olivia is our best sleeper out of all 3 kiddos. She goes to bed around 8 and sleeps 9-10 hours at night.
Weight: 13 lb, 8 ounces (46.42%)
Length: 24.75 inches (69%)
Head: 16.25 inches (59%)
Olivia is still on the smaller side, but eats like a beast so nobody is concerned :) She is doing well at daycare and LOVES watching the kids run around. She is obsessed with her hands, and almost can fit her whole fist in her mouth. I was concerned she was going to choke, but it seems to be how she calms herself so I guess she's fine.

5 Months
Olivia rolled over from back to tummy for the first time this month. In typical 3rd-child fashion, the entire rest of the family was in the other room and missed it. Sorry sweetie.

6 Months
Olivia is SUCH a happy baby. She reminds me a lot of Elliot at that age, always smiling. Her favorite activity is rolling. She rolls, and rolls, and rolls...everywhere! Her little friend at daycare (born 5 days after her) looks at her like she's crazy. She has no interest in sitting up, so we continue to work on that. She is really starting to eat solids, and loves everything that we put in front of her. Vegetables, cereal, fruits; you name it, she will eat it (with a smile). No teeth yet, but she has been working on something for awhile, so I am thinking they will pop out soon.
Stats at 6 months were:
Weight: 15lb 8 oxz (39%)
Height: 26.75 inches (84%)
Head: 17 inches (71%)
Still a tiny peanut.

| Yummy carrots |
 |
| Watching another hockey game (her favorite pastime) |
 |
| First taste of ice cream...it's a hit! |

| Where are you going? |
7 Months
Olivia has figured out how to do the army crawl (dragging tummy across the ground) and she can scoot pretty fast! She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, but always decides to army crawl instead of the real crawl. It's time to baby proof once again, and the boys are learning that they can't keep their toys and items laying around. Olivia got into one of Noah's favorite books and demolished it....he has kept them picked from then on. Still working on the sitting thing, she would rather roll and crawl then sit. To each their own :)
 |
| First time in the pool. Hated it! |
 |
Hey mom and dad, do you think you could get me some
'girl' toys, this is ridiculous! |
 |
| Why do I have to learn to sit anyway? It's overrated. |
 |
| First bike ride. Loved it. |
 |
| Olivia had a visitor in her bed...her face says it all (get him out of here please!) |
 |
| Read for the beach |
 |
| Mmm, watermelon! |
 |
| Sitting in mommy's chair from when she was a baby |
 |
| Loves the swing |
8 Months (July)
Olivia has finally mastered crawling and she is QUICK. She can scoot from one end of a room to another in the blink of an eye. She also decided that sitting up wasn't so hard after all, and it's much easier to play when you do. It's always fun to turn around and see them all of a sudden sitting upright. She seems to get into anything and everything, and here I thought when I had a girl she would sit nicely and play with dollies :) Olivia is still a happy baby, but is starting to develop her own little personality. She definitely will let you know when she doesn't like something (this includes the numerous babysitters that have come over, poor girls!) Stranger anxiety is is full mode, and she only prefers a few people around her.

| Here I come! |
 |
| Tricky :) |
 |
Noah is Olivia's FAVORITE, as you
can see by the way she is looking at him.
Warms my heart |
 |
| Could I get any cuter??! |
 |
First time at outdoor pool...loved it
(until she was stung by a wasp) :( |
9 Months (August)
Olivia still loves to eat, and is starting to eat anything that we have. I am starting to teach her sign language for 'more' so she can do that instead of scream for more food. She's starting to get the hang of it, but still screams if I don't get her tray replenished with food quick enough :) She FINALLY cut the 2 bottom teeth that she has been working on for about 2 months. She also moved to a big girl car seat this month since the baby one was getting too heavy for me to carry. She is growing up way too fast! She still is a great sleeper at night, but isn't great at napping. She loves to take little 'cat naps' for about 20 minutes, but that's about as long as we can get her to nap during the day. I guess if she sleeps 12 hours at night, we won't complain.
Stats at 9 months:
Weight: 18 lbs, 3 oz (31%)
Height: 29.25 inches (91%)
Head: 18 inches (88.5%)
She continues to be on the small side for weight, and tall which is surprisingly exactly the way Noah was his first year. Overall healthy little girl.
 |
| Loves to watch outside |
 |
| 9 month check up |
 |
Mommy and Daddy snuck away to San Francisco
for a few days.(without us!) They look a little TOO happy to
be on vacation, if you ask me! |
 |
| She does this at every meal, cracks me |
 |
| Watching brothers play outside |
 |
Bath time. Fun until Elliot decides to
give her a 'shower' with cups of water |
 |
| Not a great 'helper' with laundry yet |
I think that should catch us up. Maybe it will be easier to keep up now (or else we will see you in 6 months!)
